About

At Healthy Living Yoga, we are passionate about making yoga accessible and inclusive.

Our Mission

Healthy Living Yoga is a veteran owned and operated business that provides dramatic positive change in peoples physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

We will create a community of like-minded people with strong social networks and inclusivity.

We want to empower people to explore the range of benefits that yoga has to offer, after all yoga means union of the mind, the body and the breath and it has been around for thousands of years for a simple truth - it works. See it for yourself.

Make Yoga Accessible & Empowering

Meet our owner

Heather is our creative driving force behind our group sessions, retreats, sound baths, workshops and product range you will see in our store. Her yoga journey started over 30 years ago during high school and volunteering at Chenrezig Buddhist Institute on the Sunshine Coast in sunny Queensland. Her practice consisted of traditional yin styles (yin, restorative and nidra) and Hatha, Ashtanga and vinyasa styles.

As a military veteran herself, Heather has a particular passion to make yoga accessible to first responders, armed service people and people living with disability, chronic injury or illness. She is also a support worker for NDIS participants.

Heather is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) of over 800 hours of qualified certification training hours. Her initial teacher training (RYT200 hour) covering vinyasa, asanas, meditation, anatomy and physiology, the Bhagavad-Gita, the eight limbs of yoga, creative sequencing, breathwork, Sanskrit language, mantras, mandalas, and mudras. Her level two teacher training (RYT300 hour) covered Yin yoga, yoga Nidra, Ayurveda, Mediation, Yoga Therapeutics, Restorative Yoga, and Pre and post-natal yoga.

She has also completed an additional specialised training from the United States in Yoga Therapy (300RYT in Yoga Therapy) from the Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga Centre in the Unites States.
